Enhancing CPVC Performance Through Advanced Additives

The thermal stabilizers used in the processing of CPVC include calcium-zinc, organo-tin and calcium organics based stabilizers. These stabilizers are essential for protecting the polymer from thermal degradation during high temperature extrusion, molding or calendaring operations while meeting the environmental and regulatory requirements.

Some other specialty acid scavengers are also some-times included in the stabilizer team to neutralize the HCI generated during thermal degradation, enhancing the stability and color retention of the end product. Lubricants like polyethylene wax, fatty acid esters and acrylic processing aid are also made use to enhance the melt flow and surface aesthetics of the end
products.
